The MEI Commission was created in 2009 with the purpose of providing legislative input on economic development projects. In its current iteration in Title 30, Chapter 47 of the Code of Virginia, the MEI Commission must review any economic development incentive package in excess of $10 million or containing incentives that do not exist already in state law.
